Bird's nest are produced by swiftlets. ALthought swiftlets and swallows came from the same family, swiftlets are smaller in size, averaging only 9mm in length, while swallows can grow up to 17mm. Swiflets are found predominatly in south-east Asia (SEA), countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand, other than that, swiflets may also be found in some remote areas of Southern China, India and Sri Lanka.
The greatest difference among them is the way they make their nest. Swallows use grass and mud while swiftlets use their saliva .
